Thea Strother

BEng (Hons)

Thea is a Consultant at Noise Consultants and joined the company in 2024.

Thea graduated from the University of Salford with a BEng (Hons) in Acoustical and Audio Engineering and has two years of experience working in acoustics. Her previous experience includes a 12 month placement at an acoustic consultancy during her degree and a graduate acoustic research engineer role at a large technology company.

Shortly after graduating, Thea presented her undergraduate final year project at an Institute of Acoustics conference and subsequently had her research paper published. This project combined room acoustics and psychoacoustics. In her two years in industry, Thea has gained experience in various aspects of acoustics including but not limited to environmental and plant noise assessments, acoustic modelling, acoustic commissioning, research and development of consumer products, undertaking testing of products in acoustic labs.

We have worked with the team at Noise Consultants for many years and have always found them to be knowledgeable, professional, and responsive to our needs. We can rely on them to deliver high quality noise impact assessments and to devise noise mitigation schemes that are practical and cost-effective.

Noise Consultants undertook works required to assist in the discharging of a noise condition as part of a reserved matters application associated with an outline planning permission for 1,300 homes in Cambridge.
